Additive Manufacturing is a non-profit association founded in 1992. Chaired by Christophe Eschenbrenner, alongside Alain Bernard, Vice-President since 1993, and run by a voluntary committee, it is composed of members from the academic and private sectors. Its action is divided between sharing and disseminating knowledge, contributing to the construction of projects and the emergence of new subjects, the active participation of its members in national and international standardisation groups, and the organisation of an annual meeting, the European Additive Manufacturing Conference.
WHEN WILL THE NEXT CONFERENCE TAKE PLACE?
Due to the Covid-19 context in the first half of 2020, we have taken the decision to schedule them in June 2021.
CAN YOU INTRODUCE THE CONFERENCE?
It is an exclusive meeting point between research, education, principals and service providers, with a permanent focus on the state of the market, with workshops dedicated to many of the key aspects of the value chain (both physical and digital) integrating additive manufacturing, in fields as diverse as health, construction, key performance factors, the environment and sustainable development.
Since the first conference in 1992, these conferences have been European and even international. There is indeed much to learn from the insights of foreign experts (they are also moving fast!), as well as the main advances in national and European projects!
They also highlight the latest innovations in the field, rewarded by the AFPR Trophies! All candidates are welcome, as we do not know everything, even if our members follow international news closely and contribute to it on a daily basis!
WHY TAKE PART?
Since their creation, they have responded to a key challenge: “Understand the past – Measure the present – Make the right decisions for tomorrow”.
To celebrate this 25th anniversary, we are proposing an exceptional theme around the pioneers, these adventurers of the past, who will not only be asked to share with us the best moments of the first hours, but also to take stock of 2021 and, above all, to look ahead to 2030 and 2050. Research programmes, industrial investments and training are long-term; competition is global and there is a lot to be done.
The conference will build a bridge between science and industrial applications. The agenda will include cross-cutting presentations on current research, the state of the art and best practices, as well as sectoral focuses to address issues in industry, medicine, construction, consumption, etc.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CONFERENCE AND OTHER EVENTS?
Although supported by sponsors and exhibitors, whose contribution is essential to its organisation, the Conference is not a commercial event. Each participant brings his or her experience and contributes. There is no political rhetoric or marketing promises. We talk about techniques, figures, market realities, difficulties encountered and solutions for progress. The key words are exchanges, contacts and networking!
WHO IS THE CONFERENCE FOR?
Additive manufacturing affects many fields and impacts organisations. We invite anyone who feels concerned by the evolution of the penetration of additive manufacturing in daily practices, by this revolution in progress, and who is looking for keys to both personal development and the success of their projects.
In addition to the technical experts – engineering, materials, processes, tools – we particularly invite the leaders as well as the transversal professions which are the keystone of the success of the future: project managers, designers, supply chain managers, buyers, maintenance managers, financiers and financiers or investors!
We are also counting on the presence of public players who structure the approach and give it the necessary financial resources. We are also expecting the key players from the platforms that are energising the regions and supporting the SMEs in the ongoing transformation.
Finally, we invite all those who wish to make additive manufacturing their core business – students, employees and freelancers – as well as those who contribute to the development of skills and the recruitment of talent.
Are you looking for speakers and session leaders?
Yes, there is still time to propose specific session themes or interventions!
If you are users, specialists or researchers, this event is a unique opportunity for you to present your technological, methodological and scientific advances to a very wide audience.
ANYTHING NEW THIS YEAR?
We ask the participants to share their expertise, but at the service of other players in the value chain, upstream or downstream. For example, why the material should be taken into account in the design phase; the collection and processing of machine data in a certification process; standardisation to facilitate an on-demand supply chain…
We are also planning exclusive sessions that will increase the network effect and deliver even more value to participants:
- Pitch for action “I have a project to propose to you”: 5-minute sessions to mobilise partners or customers around an innovation that is not yet mature
- Speed printing “what can I do for you? : one to one sessions of 7 minutes, programmed blind, to maximise surprising meetings
CONVIVIAL, EVEN FESTIVE MOMENTS?
Of course, it is planned to encourage networking, during the day and during two evenings. Probably a fun evening, a nostalgia evening, around lunch and dinner cocktails. We are also looking for a sponsor or partner who could host us in the South of Paris. An opportunity to communicate with a very targeted audience! Please contact us as soon as possible!
HOW TO FIND OUT MORE AND REGISTER? HOW TO BECOME A SPEAKER, SPONSOR AND/OR EXHIBITOR?
A FINAL WORD
The Assises is the time when the actors and bearers of tomorrow’s major projects meet. It is the place where the most innovative ideas emerge, where academics and companies imagine the progress of tomorrow!
Save the slot in your diary, we look forward to seeing you from 8 to 10 June 2021 for an exceptional event, which will once again be convivial and unifying!
